Jacob Ollanik
Mr. Ollanik has been at UHS since 2017, coming in as a student teacher from NAU. After joining the faculty, he has taught AP Human Geography and AP US Government, as well as being the UHS Student Council Advisor and Site Council Chair. Mr. O has led students on trips for 7 years, both with the Travel Club and through other organizations. Highlights of past trips include seeing Broadway shows in New York; Flamenco music and dancing in a cave-turned-showroom in Spain; and braving blustery rain to traverse the Giant's Causeway in Ireland. Mr. Ollanik loves to experience and learn from the cultures and histories of the places he visits, and tries to bring that impression to the students as well. His favorite Travel Club destination so far has been The Alhambra palace in Granada, Spain - a personal bucket list item that more than lived up to expectations.
Austin Morris
Mr. Morris has been the French teacher at UHS since 2019. He is a veteran traveler, having been to a dozen countries and having lived in France for over 2 years. He is from Lima, Ohio and is a big fan of jazz and Francophone art and literature. His favorite part of traveling is being able to speak with people and get their perspectives on the world that are often much different than our own. He also loves visiting museums and can wander around them for hours/days at a time.
